5 Myths About Healthy Eating
Many people these days are adopting good eating habits. However, without having any prior knowledge, they believe in whatever they read on the internet.
So, here we are going to bust five myths about healthy eating:
1) Juice Your Fruits And Vegetables
As we all know, the basis of healthy eating largely depends on the intake of fruits and vegetables. But how we consume these is the actual question. Many experts suggest that we should eat fruits and vegetables raw since many of its nutrients are lost when we juice them. Mainly all the fiber is extracted from it, leaving behind sugar, which can be as harmful as drinking soda. In short, we should stick to eating our fruits and vegetables them raw instead of juicing them.
2) Nuts Are A Must!
As we all know, nuts have a high-fat content, but that doesn’t stop the experts from suggesting it to eat them in our daily routine when trying to adopt a healthy eating habit. Although they have high-fat content, they are loaded with nutrients and can also boost our metabolism.
Studies suggest, eating some amount of nuts every day can increase your chance of losing weight, but we need to be vigilant of our portions!
3) Carbs Are Our Friend
Many people believe that eating a diet that includes carbohydrates will reduce their chance of losing weight; however, they are wrong. Carbohydrates are one of the primary sources of energy. Eating a well-balanced diet, which includes carbs, will keep us running and energized throughout the day and will also help in achieving our weight loss goals faster.
4) Counting Your Calories
We see many people counting calories of each and everything they put in their mouth. Even though to some extent, we should be careful about our calories, but counting them will not make us lose weight faster. Since, when we count calories, we tend to subconsciously start eating less, thinking that the less we eat, the more quickly we will lose weight. That is a big myth; if we don’t eat enough calories, our body will retain the extra fat, and in return, it will slow down the process of losing weight. Hence counting calories will be of no help when it comes to losing weight fast.
5) No Cheat Meals Allowed
A big myth we often see people following is that we should not take a cheat meal. Cheat meals have proven to aid in faster weight loss. People tend to forget that as humans, we need to give ourselves a reward for all the hard work we put in. Once in a while, we should treat ourselves; maybe on the weekend, go out for dinner and enjoy some time off from your diet. However, we should be careful about not overindulging and try to stick to a cheat meal instead of a cheat day.
